Reality TV
Brian stopped by for a night… which was nice! He had been to Athens for a conference. Don’t ever let an academic fool you into thinking these conferences are terribly boring. They’re held at interesting places that you’d be happy to holiday at and leave time for plenty of sightseeing. I’d be surprised if there was a physics conference in somewhere like Ipswich (nothing against Ipswich, blahblahblah). If my work included one week in six out of the country somewhere – skiiing in the French Alps, Rio de Janiero, Athens, Krakow, New York City, Paris etc – AND I got paid extra to go, I certainly wouldn’t complain… ^_^ But then that’s me.
I just read Ben Elton’s ‘Dead Famous’. Susan (the Wonder Agent) loaned it to me. It was fantastic! I’m almost thinking of writing to Ben Elton to say ‘I thought you’d become a real twat with all that Andrew Llyod Webber stuff, but you redeemed yourself with this.’ Read it. You will probably NEVER watch another Reality TV programme again.
And that’s a good thing.
NOTE: I’ve kept most of my early blog posts private.
