Venus Fly Trap
I had a very early night last night. I feel fab.
This morning I got up and thought I’d take some pictures of my son’s Venus Flytrap. His class had one last year and in the beginning of May I got him one for home, he was also given one by his teacher as a goodbye present when the school closed. Both of his Venus Flytraps have been thriving, but the one he got in May has flowered. The first flower started in June, but for some reason it turned black and shrivelled up very quickly. The second flower started a couple weeks later. That too turned black and shrivelled up (you can see the remaining stems in the first picture). The third one started in July and only yesterday it opened up to reveal the flowers.
The stem of the flower is about a foot long. The flowers themselves are about half an inch across and white.

I don’t know much about Venus Flytraps, but they are certainly a very strange, but intriguing plant. I never even thought that they would have flowers that are so…well, flower-like! I would think they’d have some scary alien-looking thing with teeth. Not a sweet delicate little white flower…
