Lazy Night
I stayed in and watched some dvds last night. Watched The Hours and absolutely loved it. Having been through a period of *massive* dissatifaction with my life and relationship a couple years ago, I thought this film and the actresses in it portrayed that desperate and desperately sad feeling perfectly. I could almost remember how I felt at the time – restless, preoccupied and goddamned angry… I’m glad I didn’t see it when it was in the cinemas. I was far too close to my past at that time and it would have probably pushed me over the edge!
Then for a change of mood I watched Happiness of the Katakuris which is one of the most bizarre movies I’ve seen in a long time! Absolutely fabulous. It’s a kind of combination of a cheesy ‘family’ movie, a Tim Burton animation, Shallow Grave, a zombie film… and it’s a musical. Mental, mental, mental. I loved it! I’d definitely reccomend it if you’re in the mood for something totally bizarre yet uplifting. I’m still smiling. *^_^*
I’m now starting to start to worry about when Demolition Day will be aired. It’s not in the schedules yet and could be put on air anytime up to *next autumn*. That would so suck for so many reasons… Mainly because once it goes on air then work will hopefully come in much easier. If that takes a year then I’m so not looking forward to another 12 months of struggling. Of course, I do now have an agent which helps (I’m just below Terry Wogan, doesn’t that totally rule?!), but still… I’ve been told that Kevin Lygo (new Head of Channel 4) has watched the first prog and likes it, so maybe it can be put on air sooner rather than later… Although, Lygo also seems to be keen on something that Brian and I are working on with Charlie Brooker (look at June 12th) and co at Zeppotron… so things mightn’t be totally lost…
