AJAX-tastic

Oh.

Finished my redesign and…. it’s really sexy, innit?

I am using WordPress, K2-the most beautiful theme around- and the WordPress widgets plugin. I’m using a few of the included widgets plus: the Ad Rotator widget (which I’m using to rotate Flickr images) and the ExecPHP widget (which I’m using to display my Ultimate Tag Warrior cloud).

I’ve implemented AJAX commenting and page scrolling. If you’re having any problems with anything, please let me know.

I implement a redesign with AJAX commenting and one week later … sheesh! Yours looks better though. I might have to add in some effects as well.

Now, here’s hoping I get the anti-spam sum correct …

AJAX. SCHMAJAX. Your site has Alligators

My AJAX page scrolling thingy wasn’t working for everyone… so I’ve scrapped it for the moment…

  3. Mark says:

I’m guessing your hubby is on TV somewhere this morning. My site’s being inundated with searches for his name.

  4. giagia says:

Nope. He’s not on here… Might be on in the US or Australia though… where are they coming from?

  5. Mark says:

95% are US with the highest number coming from Miami.

  6. giagia says:

Maybe he’s on the Gay Science Network…

    Probably.

  7. giagia says:

You know though, I LOVE that they’re ending up at your site! Heh…

  8. Rachel says:

Despatch War Rocket AJAX to bring back his bothy!

  9. Jonathan says:

Oh, I’m so glad somebody else thinks of Flash Gordon rather than Web 2.yadda whenever somebody says ‘AJAX.’ I thought I was in some weird zone of my own there.

Uhh.. Gia… your blog is telling me that I ‘didn’t pass math’ when (a.) I ruddy well did, thank you very much, right up to Green’s Functions in the second year of my degree, and (b.) I’m fairly certain that 7 10 = 17. You know, to a first approximation.

  10. Jonathan says:

Oh, great, and now it’s making me look stupid by not letting me publish a ‘plus’ sign. See, much as I love WordPress and K2, this is why I ditched it from the How2 website. It looked lovely, too… then I threw it away four hours before the site had to go live, and redid the whole thing in Movable Type. :-(

Umm… OK, I’ll stop ranting now. Sorry.

GAAAAAH Again with the maths denial! Now it’s claiming I can’t add 8 and 3! Gaaaaaah!

  11. mark says:

hello! intersted in the how of combining the ad rotator widget with the flickr feed to make it random, that’s exactly what i’d like to do and i’ve had little luck with it, any help would be great!
    thanks,
    mark

  • Observer Article -

Honestly, this isn't a blog just about Brian. That would be really weird... but... indulge me just a bit longer.

Some of you may have seen the article about Brian in the Observer today. Now, you guys are intelligent and realise that not everything you read in a newspaper is accurate. This was made absolutely clear to me this morning as I was sitting in my bathrobe, hair all over the place, barefoot, all coffee breath, unshowered and read, "he married his American wife, glamorous TV presenter Gia Milinovich, in secret." :-/

    Ah well...
