Blogging For Channel 4

I’m going to be working with my lovely (and gorgeous) friend Inge Blackman on a blogging project Channel 4 are running called 1-2-1. It’s pairing up British bloggers with people from similar backgrounds or with similar jobs in countries all over the world. So far they’ve paired British people up with people in Iran and Russia to great success… It’s kind of like a public pen pal exchange. Each pairing is asked to blog for at least 3 months, though many of them continue for long after that having become good friends. Two people, British and Russian, have even formed a company together…

I will most likely get in touch with Steve/Our Man in Hanoi to try and find some people in Vietnam. If any of you know any bloggers anywhere in Africa, the Middle East, the Carribean, South America, Asia or indeed anyone in those places who doesn’t already blog, but would be interested to have a go, let me know (contact page above). Ideally, they need to live in places where their personal safety won’t be threatened by blogging, though they don’t have to use their real names and the project uses Blogger which provides some protection They do have to speak English, although one of the Iranian bloggers is a photographer and mainly uses photographs to communicate…

Anyone know any North Korean or Iranian nuclear physicists to pair up with British ones? Now that would be an interesting pen pal exchange…

Hey Gia, I tried emailing you at giaTAKEgiaTHIS@gmailOUT.com but it didn’t work. I’ll put the contents of my email here:

    Gia,

I recently was in Hong Kong obtaining a work visa to work in China. One of the two english channel I received was NOW. The station had a loop of old shows from around 2002, and I caught you on “The Circuit”. It was nice being able to watch the show (despite the fact that it was a few years old) among the reasons being because you were the first attractive non-Chinese woman I’ve seen in over 3 weeks. (Not trying to sound like a creepy stalker here). I thought you were entertaining and was wondering if you were American (because you didn’t have the same brit/aussie accent that just about everyone else had).

I’d love to catch any of your more recent work, is there a place on the net that I could find streams of your stuff? Consider me a “fan”, but not the weird type.

    Thanks!

    James L. Goode

    James,

    I will email you.

The capital lettered words TAKE THIS OUT is a way of preventing spam bots from getting the email address and stuffing it full of rubbish. The idea is that you TAKE the capital letters OUT before you send. Once you remove those words you will see that my email address is an obvious one ;)
