i am astonished to find out that this spamming still continues. i just got my latest o2 bill and i have been charged £7.66 for nothing. i have registered my number to ICSTIS and hoping to get some reaction to it. they told me that the premium rate service will be stopped for me within 24 hours. although the amount is not significant i asked for a redemption and they have taken my address and said that it'll take upto 14 days (my fingers are crossed!).

all these scams and spams make people angry and the anger is taken out on innocent people. UK has the freedom of information act but has no law to stop the crime even when they have all the information they need. i am wondering what will a person need to do to get the attention of the government.

Tony Kelly's latest piece of scam artistry is buying over a flying school from fellow text scam artist Ian Vaughan (3Business, MMS3, Comms International, Mobsi) and then selling tens of thousands of pounds worth of flying gift vouchers over the Christmas period then doing a runner. Many customers and student pilots have been left out of pocket, some to the value of several thousand pounds. The saga is well documented on the aviation website www.pprune.com. Alledgedly BBC Watchdog are investigating!

Hi,

As I said on the other page of this blog, O2 have charged me £1.28 for my sms from OneGoalLimited.

But this scam gets better and better.

Just checked the whois for OneGoalLimited and the guy now only has an 0870 number listed:

Registrant:
Tony Kelly
UNIT 25 THE BRAES
Castlemilk, Castlemilk G45 9AA
GB

Domain name: ONEGOALLIMITED.COM

Administrative Contact:
 Kelly, Tony kisu_454@yahoo.com
 UNIT 25 THE BRAES
 Castlemilk, Castlemilk G45 9AA
 GB
 +44.0870 062 5279

So if you complain to him, he's charging you for the call! Brilliant!

I'm pursuing some of the leads others have left and will let you know how I get on.

Cheers,

Matty

I had a long exchange with my wifes service provider after a set of sms from onegoallimited. They (the service provider) would not answer my questions asking where they had got the idea of passing my pay as you go credit to a third party. Eventually they stopped talking to me and I was referred to a letter post only complaints service.
I wrote to them on her behalf asking the following (in essence)

"I want to know why you were sufficiently certain of my acceptance of an offer by onegoallimted to have passed my money to them as a third party when acting as my agent. Without referring to me."

The key point being that you can't just go about accepting offers on other people behalf and handing over money that you are holding effectively on trust. (Especially if you get a cut from so doing).

She got a £10 credit from the service provider and now we have £1.50 from onegoallimited. The cheque is from a company called 2Comm. All credit to the service provider, they do seem to be doing their best when dealing with what appears to be a crook. The online support was very reluctant to enter into any meanningful dialog beying cut and pasted stock respnses.

I am pursuing onegoallimited for data access and the fact that they do not appear to be DPA registered. They have not replied to my request for a datacontroller to be identified (as I think the DPA requires). I have also complained to the DPR and I am sending regular daily reminders to OneGoallimted that I would like this information.

ICSTIS are a total waste of space and time and can do nothing for you personally. They're simply like the police...they investigate the crime, but not on your behalf. Contact the Information Commissioners Office and complain. They will help you make a Data Protection Act request to find out where onegoal got your number from. If Onegoal cant prove they already had a customer relationship with you, you can take them to court like the guy did above. Usually you win £50 but the guy above was lucky and got the maximum allowed from the small claims court: £300.

The service provider has comitted an offence under the Electronic Communications Directive. Issue a claim in the small claims court (all you do is fill in a form, pay £30 and post the form). This guy won £300 for a single spam email http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/guernsey/4562726.stm
