Migrane

I’ve had a migraine on and off for several days now. They haven’t been so bad that I’ve been unable to move or get out of bed, but I’ve been very sensitive to light and sounds along with having a terrible headache… I’ve only ever had two migraines before in my life, both considerably worse than this, but they were over and done with in a day. This is exhausting me.

Any doctors in the house?

I’ve been out sick since thanksgiving and it’s been a head infection kind of cold that makes my teeth hurt. I thought it was a bad tooth but nope so maybe you have a bad head cold. My eyes hurt for days.

    I don’t think it’s the russians though.

  3. I used to get migranes all of the time. Although I could never figure out the causes of all of my migranes, the number one trigger was alcohol. I remember drinking a few sips of champagne at my brother’s wedding and proceeded to have a migrane the rest of the evening. Fortunately, during a doctor visit about 15 years ago, my doctor discovered that I had high blood pressure. He prescribed cardizem and after a few days, my migranes stopped. No, my blood pressure was not super high (I think it was around 130 over 90). Here’s the sad part of my story: if you took 1,000 people with “mild” high blood pressure who also had migranes, I wonder if more than a hand-full of these people would experience a lack of migranes after taking cardizem (or another high blood pressure medication). I consider myself very fortunate indeed to “kill two birds with one stone” (my high blood pressure and migranes) with one medication. Perhaps you can keep a migrane journal and see if you or your doctor can determine any pattern. Good luck with your migranes-—they are simply God-awful :-)

I would suggest seeing a doctor- headaches that last that long are always worth investigating properly.

Have you accidentally detoxed off caffeine? That always gives me headaches for days. Also, I think I might have the same effect with either tabasco sauce or chili powder, so it might be a food intolerance. Might be worth seeing the doctor though. No rashes I assume?

No rashes… It could be caffeine related perhaps, but I think it’s more illness. I’m feeling better today… now I have TONS of work to catch up on… Ugh..

Hope it’s cleared up and you’re feeling okay.

I had migraines like that due to sinusitis. I have tried everything, but when I quit smoking, migraines were gone away. I used to be in agony pain for weeks, without sleep or rest, sensitive to light, sound. There were depressions, mood shifts, personality changes…
