An Early Christmas Pressie

I get quite a few emails from people asking me about how to set up a blog. I tend to tell them to start off using a free blog (Blogger or WordPress usually) and then if they enjoy it, they can later choose to have their own server and domain name.

Now, as lots of you know I moved from Blogger earlier in the year. I wanted to use WordPress as I’d been using it for Sunshine and really rate it highly. I looked around for a host both in the UK and in the US and finally settled on Dreamhost. I fell in love with them immediately.

Apart from costing me a mere $8 per month for 200GB storage and 2TB of bandwidth (!), they have been absolutely brilliant in every way. Their tech support is probably the best of ANYWHERE ever. Best of all they have one click installs of WordPress and Joomla as well as a wiki, e-commerce software, messageboards – everything you could want for a site. I always recommend Dreamhost to everyone who asks me about hosting. They absolutely rule.

I’ve decided to create some promo codes which any of you can use if you want to get your own hosting at Dreamhost. For everyone I refer to Dreamhost, I get $97, but for Christmas I’ve decided to give that away. Because I love you. And I love Dreamhost.

  • If you want me to get the full $97 and you get no discount at all, simply click here, read all the info, choose your plan and sign up. Thank you very much.
  • If you’d like a $50 discount (approx 5 months free hosting if you get the same plan as me) then go to Dreamhost, read all of the information, choose your plan and put in the referral code ‘giagia’. I will get $47 rather than the full $97.
  • If money is tight for you, but you still want a website, I’ve done a promo code with the maximum amount of discount I can give you – for most plans it’s the full $97 (ie I get nothing from your referral). If you sign up for the same plan as me, $97 pays for a whole year of hosting. Go to Dreamhost, read all of the information, choose your plan and put in the referral code ‘giagiamax’.

I will keep the maximum code active for the next two weeks and the $50 discount until January. I don’t want them to spread all over and be used by any old person. I only want people I love or people who people-I-love love to use them.

Happy Holidays!

If you happen to be reading this after I’ve deactivated the codes email me – contact page above- and I will give you a secret referral code you can use.

well I just started on my hostway (US) account since it’s free (or I pay already) but it sucks.

  • Observer Article -

Honestly, this isn't a blog just about Brian. That would be really weird... but... indulge me just a bit longer.

Some of you may have seen the article about Brian in the Observer today. Now, you guys are intelligent and realise that not everything you read in a newspaper is accurate. This was made absolutely clear to me this morning as I was sitting in my bathrobe, hair all over the place, barefoot, all coffee breath, unshowered and read, "he married his American wife, glamorous TV presenter Gia Milinovich, in secret." :-/

    Ah well...
