R- I did have the release dates up on the Sunshine site, but Searchlight asked me to take them down. (It's like they don't want anyone to know when it's being released!!!). It depends on where you live. It's opening in the UK on the 5th of April, and pretty much everywhere else then or within a matter of two weeks after that. The US, however, currently has its release date at the 14th of Sept.

I've just seen my first "Sunshine" trailer when at the movies this afternoon(ok I was there to see "Ghost Rider" I admit it!). It looks really promising and I'll definately be going to see it when it gets released to "regional cinemas"! :)

London Lite page has a Sunshine trailer on the website No. 1

I cry rather easily at emotionally manipulative films - mainly things to do with kids and their mother or the sad bits in romantic comedies, but they are trying to make you cry. 'Sunshine' doesn't attempt to manipulate your emotions at all. Still a few times during the film and 'that shot' in particular just really said something to me which I will let others discover for themselves...

Brian and I have been trying to think of another sci-fi film which has a similarly important message. We could only think of The Day The Earth Stood Still... there were, however, several episodes of Star Trek we thought of, but couldn't think of any other films...

It was such a privilege to see the film on Friday, and I completely echo what you said - some of the shots are jaw-dropping, and it was amazing seeing on screen what I'd read about on the Sunshine blog months ago. Funny you should mention that it made you cry the other night - the first thing D said to me as we came out of the theatre was, "Is my mascara running?"
