X-Files Premiere
Here’s a bit of what I was up to last night.

Suw Charman is asking all bloggers to take part in Ada Lovelace Day by blogging about a woman in tech they admire. Sign the pledge!
- 2009-01-11 11:18:16I've only just noticed that people are looking for Jonathan Ross's Twitter stream via my blog, so thought I'd make it easier. He's here.
- 2009-01-01 12:36:16If you missed Brian's Horizon 'Do You Know What Time It Is?' last night, and you are in the UK, it's available on the BBC's iPlayer.
- 2008-12-03 13:32:49Friend him here! You need to be signed into Facebook, but if it still doesn't work for you then sign into Facebook and search for Jonathan Stephen Ross.
- 2008-11-23 16:29:13Phew! I can finally say something about this. Brian was up for Dawkins' job, down to the final three (or was it four?!), but didn't get it. And the winner is...
- 2008-10-30 15:29:51I was looking for a photo of me on Flickr and stumbled across these pics of Brian and me at SciFoo.

A couple people in the comments have said they think Brian should take over from Richard Dawkins when he retires this year. If you're on Facebook, you can join the Brian Cox For Dawkins' Job group. Not started be me incidentally.
- 2008-09-15 14:05:46Honestly, this isn't a blog just about Brian. That would be really weird... but... indulge me just a bit longer.
Some of you may have seen the article about Brian in the Observer today. Now, you guys are intelligent and realise that not everything you read in a newspaper is accurate. This was made absolutely clear to me this morning as I was sitting in my bathrobe, hair all over the place, barefoot, all coffee breath, unshowered and read, "he married his American wife, glamorous TV presenter Gia Milinovich, in secret." :-/
Ah well...

Gia Milinovich is an American ex-pat, a science groupie and professional dork.
Gia's a TV presenter, enjoys taking photos, is married to physicist Professor Brian Cox and thinks writing about herself in the third person is "cool".

Uh, great vid! Are u planning to put the other interviews online, as well? The ones with the fans waiting at the carpet?
It’s so cool to see us, the insane Germans ;-), on ur vid! Unfortunately we weren’t able to get our selfmade banner inside of the cinema, cause the security forced the fans to go inside. And now the banner is lost :-/
But beside this it was a great nite and it was so great to see u there :-)
Many greetings from Germany,
mel
are you permitted to do a review/opinion?
Great ! Thanks for this video :)
Cool video :)
Gia, I saw the movie today and loved it. I thought that the references to the x files past were great and Chris Carters apperance in the hallway really cool. I hope that audiance figures a rally up to the task of geting the sequal made as I really would hate to see the franchise die. I missed the scene at the end after the credits though and wondered if you could spill the beans and tell? I shall be going for a second viewing just to see if I can stay long enough after people start leaving. Seeing the film again reminded me of when the show was running and what i was doing in my own life (getting a post grad education and starting my career), also thinking of Chris’s comments on the HMV interview when he talked about the time passing and what scully had been up to ( I had been up skilling as well and furthering my own career goals in engineering design / development). Do you think that the DVD will be an extended version of the film like fight the future or perhaps Blu Ray technology will ad that extra dimension? Finally many thank for the blog and the opportunity to catch up with a favorite show and remember some good times watching it.
Mark,
Hmmmm… I don’t know if I want to spill the beans about the ‘Easter Egg’ at the end of the credits! It’s something you have to see. :)
Gia, as a postscript to my last comments, i have seen now the film again and this time including the boat scene just before the black screen starts with the music titles, and thought it was the most touching scene, and brilliantly done end credits i have seen. sadly i could not stay further to see if there was any thing else so perhaps you could confirm that was the final scene? I wonder also about audiances as this second viewing had only 10 people there which doesn’t bode well, but here’s hoping that there is an XF3.
That is the final shot in the film! In the script it said that Mulder was wearing a Red Speedo! Clearly, Duchovny wasn’t up for that and opted for longer red shorts!
I am currently running through a survey on the X files main UK website regarding future characters and plot lines. Is this an indication Fox is seriously concidering XF 3?
