I am so far behind the times – I’ve got to see this. I know I’m too thick to get most of what he’s saying, but everyone who has watched the LHC program says they felt awestruck and stupefied – in a good way :)

And I know you must be tired of hearing this Gia, but your husband looks twelve years old. He talk so good, but looks like a child.

Dazza – we watched the final programme over the weekend and, I have to say, it’s rather brilliant. There were several moments when I got a kind of vertigo feeling, like, “HOLY SHIT!!! DON’T MAKE ME THINK OF THAT! FUCK! FUCK! THAT’S WAAAAAAAAAAY TOO BIG A CONCEPT FOR ME! HELP! HELP! HELP!!!!! OH. MY. GOD. MY MIND HAS EXPLODED. TIME! TIME! TIME! HEEEELLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!”

Have to agree 100% Madge, Brian did a great job at getting the shear awe of the LHC project across. I was surprised by how emotional it left me actually, I just felt so tiny sat in my armchair afterwards.

It’s really nice for science to produce such a clean cut question, Higgs Bosons: yes or no? There is no escaping the result, either we’ll see one of the darn things or we’ll know they don’t exist. Experiments like the LHC I think can make you feel connected to the rest of the Universe; we’re about to join the interstellar Higgs boson club.

Watched “The Big Bang Machine” It was AWESOME. Brian did a fantastic job. I had a real emotional response to it. Roll on September 10th and GOOD LUCK guys. From that day onwards, Higgs boson or no Higgs boson, whatever happens, science won’t ever be the same again.

Jonathan Ross is going to *mention* Brian on this week’s Friday Night Show. JRoss (as I’m now calling him) invited us along to the filming, but Brian’s in Manchester and I couldn’t find a babysitter. I told him that Brian has been taking people to task for believing in the conspiracy theories, so he could count himself warned. :)

Just to say that I am really looking forward to WATCHING TV TONIGHT! (This is very rare for me) I am going to curl up and watch BBC4′s BIG BANG NIGHT. Then on Wed Sep 10th I will be glued to Radio 4′s coverage of the big switch on at Cern. I think it is so cool that the Beeb is giving this MONUMENTAL acheivemant some decent coverage. I think that LHC is the single most awesome thing we carbon molecules have EVER done and my kids agree!
