Hallam Foe
I just got back from another screening of Hallam Foe. It was even better the second time ’round.
Please. Please please please please. PLEEEEEAAASE go see Hallam Foe in the cinema. It really is just one of the most moving and beautiful films I’ve seen in a very long time. And more perfectly British (Scottish) films like it need to continue to be made. Also, Jamie Bell is just remarkable in the film. Please, everyone, more Jamie Bell in the world. And if Sophia Myles (Dr. Who- ‘The Girl in the Fireplace‘) isn’t made a huge star after the film then the Universe is far more fucked up than I believe it to be.
I can’t wait to see the video from the evening… Colin, will you edit yourself into it? ;)

I will if it comes to the US. We have not had the best luck lately getting British films. :(
It was, indeed, superb. Inviting a bunch of free-thinking, beholden-to-no-one bloggers to a preview, with no strings attached, demonstrates quite a leap of faith… and I can now see how that faith was justified. Extraordinary, compelling performances from Jamie Bell and Sophia Myles, whose characters subvert all your initial pre-conceptions. Great soundtrack as well. (Orange Juice! Sons and Daughters! Juana Molina! A new song from Franz Ferdinand!) I wish everyone involved all the best.

I concur 10 million% Of the many great bits about Hallam Foe is that I still find myself recalling scenes. Bit like finding a bit of juicy beef stuck in your teeth hours or days after a fantastic meal.It is a reminder of an occassion well spent.
Don’t brush your teeth after seeing the movie. Wait a coupla days but meantime pick out the morsels and recall a great movie.

A little late on the commenting front on this one, but I’ve just got back from the last showing of Hallam Foe at the Curzon…. I’d been meaning to see it since it came out at the end of August, but things kept conspiring against me….
I’m so glad I did manage to make it along – a fantastic film, and definitely one I’ll be finding on DVD when it comes out.
