Go to your favourite Flickr friends’ photos, find photos with people in them, click ‘Add A Note’, type either ‘ho ho ho hat’ or ‘ho ho ho beard’ then add them to the picture.

Have a look at what I did to one of Vinnie’s photos of Brian.
Or what about Damien’s photo of Nicky.
Or Lloyd’s photo of Scoble.
How about Euan’s photo of his rabbit?
Or Adriana’s pic of Euan?
What about a photo of Cillian Murphy from Sunshine?

Go on. Have fun.

The coolest Halloween photo has been added to the Sunshine Flickr Group.

.

She’s only just joined Flickr, so make sure you click on it and comment.

So far, we’ve had some really cool photos added to the Sunshine Flickr Group “Catching Sunshine“.

Get snapping and add your photos, kids.

OK it’s up

Again, I’d love you all to take some photos of you or your friends or family ‘catching sunshine’ - holding the Sun, kissing the Sun, kicking the Sun, drinking the Sun… whatever you can imagine…

And if you are a Sunshine fan… keep your eye on the site just after midnight UK time…

In one week’s time I’m going to start this on Sunshine, but I wanted to let people know about it here first.

I’ve been taking loads of pictures of the Sun since I started working on the film. I’m kind of obsessed with it. I took some really cool photos of my son holding the Sun…

Catching Sunshine 1

…and thought it would be great idea to try and get everyone to start taking pictures of themselves, their friends, their family ‘catching sunshine’ ie a photo of you holding the Sun, kissing the Sun, kicking the Sun, drinking the Sun…

Then upload it to your Flickr account, join our Catching Sunshine group and add the photo there.

Ideally take photos at dawn or dusk in order to get a shot of the Sun and your subject (add a fill flash to be sure), though if you want to take a photo with the noonday Sun - be sure to:

A) lower the exposure of your image. -2 exposure seems to work rather well for me. You will end up with your subject in shadow, but it looks pretty cool.

B) DON’T LOOK AT THE SUN. Get your subject to cast a shadow over the lens of your camera with whatever they are using to catch the sunshine, count to 3 and have them move their hand/foot/face into position and take the photo.

YOU WILL GO BLIND IF YOU STARE AT THE SUN.

I’ve got some good photos with my mobile phone as well (I’m going to upload them to my Flickr account later on), so you don’t need to have a flashy camera to do it…

I’d love it if you could mention it on your blogs to try and get more people to do it…

**edit** Here’s one of the photos I took with my phone camera

  • The BNP's Membership List -

In case you've not already seen, the British Nationalist Party's membership list (*edited to add link to new source*) has been leaked online. For non-Brits, this is a White Supremacist "political" party in the UK. Everyone on that list stands for everything I stand against.

  • Brian Didn't Get Dawkins' Job -

Phew! I can finally say something about this. Brian was up for Dawkins' job, down to the final three (or was it four?!), but didn't get it. And the winner is...

  • Brian Cox For Dawkins' Job -

A couple people in the comments have said they think Brian should take over from Richard Dawkins when he retires this year. If you're on Facebook, you can join the Brian Cox For Dawkins' Job group. Not started be me incidentally.

  • Observer Article -

Honestly, this isn't a blog just about Brian. That would be really weird... but... indulge me just a bit longer.

Some of you may have seen the article about Brian in the Observer today. Now, you guys are intelligent and realise that not everything you read in a newspaper is accurate. This was made absolutely clear to me this morning as I was sitting in my bathrobe, hair all over the place, barefoot, all coffee breath, unshowered and read, "he married his American wife, glamorous TV presenter Gia Milinovich, in secret." :-/

    Ah well...

  • Professor Brian Cox Gay? Answered -

Questions I assume people want answered based on various searches.

    1. No, Brian is not gay. I'm his wife, not his beard. Amazing, eh?
    2. No, Brian has not had botox. He's 40 years old and just has good skin.
    3. Yes, Brian was in D:Ream, but I wish the media would stop mentioning it. It's really boring now.
    4. No, Brian's not evil. He's really lovely actually. Literally, will not even kill a fly. I, however, take delight in destroying wasps and have been known to murder mice who came into my home.
    5. No, Brian does not have a belief in God or Gods.
