Video Test
I pushed this too far… and earlier versions aren’t particularly good… Hmmmm. There are some nice stills, but other than that: Fail.
I used a video which recorded a film projected onto a cinema screen. I put this video on my computer and made the video as small as I could in order to get as much of the original frame in shot. I then shot it frame by frame and put those frames together. I replayed it back and did the same again- 5, 6, 7, 8 times… From light projected onto a screen to light projected from a screen…
I try to push video until it ‘breaks’. Sometimes it simply stops moving or goes into a strange kind of ‘slow motion’ and/or breaks down into its primary and secondary RGB colours (see here). Sometimes something interesting comes of it. Often though it’s a total failure. I guess one of my aims would be to understand the process enough to know if something is going to fail or not.
Again, some of the individual frames are interesting, not the videos as a whole.
